Vision Care: The Gift of Sight
Vision is a precious gift, and we believe everyone deserves access to quality eye care. Our comprehensive vision programs aim to prevent blindness and aid those with visual impairments. We provide:
•Free Vision Screenings: Regular screenings for children and adults to detect potential eye problems early.
•Eyeglass Assistance: Providing new eyeglasses to individuals who cannot afford them.
•Eye Surgery Partnerships: Connecting community members with local providers for necessary eye surgeries.
•Recycling Programs: Collecting used eyeglasses to be refurbished and distributed to those in need worldwide.
Youth Programs: Nurturing Future Leaders
Investing in our youth is investing in the future of Paradise. We are dedicated to supporting the educational, recreational, and developmental needs of young people on the Ridge. Our youth initiatives include:
•School Supplies & Backpacks: Ensuring students have the tools they need for a successful academic year.
•Scholarships: Providing financial assistance to deserving local students pursuing higher education.
•Boys and Girls Club Support: Partnering with the Boys and Girls Club to offer safe and enriching after-school programs.
•Fish Derbies: Organizing fun and engaging recreational activities for children.
•Camp McCumber: Supporting this special camp for diabetic children, offering a unique and supportive environment.
Community Support: Strengthening Our Town
Beyond vision and youth, the Paradise Host Lions Club actively engages in broader community support, fostering a vibrant and caring environment for all residents. Our community-focused projects include:
•Paradise Chocolate Festival: Our signature fundraising event, bringing joy to the community while generating vital funds for our programs.
•Christmas on the Ridge: Spreading holiday cheer and providing assistance to families during the festive season.
•Shop with a Cop: A heartwarming program that pairs children with law enforcement officers for a holiday shopping experience.
•Partnerships: Collaborating with organizations like the Salvation Army and Guide Dogs for the Blind to extend our reach and impact.
